Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Hexham is a railway station on the Main North railway line, in the western suburbs of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Hexham is mainly a commercial and industrial area located north of the station. A large swamp is located to the south. It originally had a substantial brick platform building, however this was demolished in the 1990s and replaced with a lightweight bus-shelter type structure. Also the station has a full length island platform however this was fenced off to a shorter 4 train-car length, also in the 1990s. Four tracks pass through Hexham- the 'Up and Down' Main lines, and the 'Up and Down Coal Lines', although there are only platform faces on the Main lines.
