Opened in 1845, it was located some distance from the village it took its name from. It was located on the Great Eastern Railway Main Line between Norwich and Thetford. It was served by between ten and twelve trains a day each way during the early sixties. In 1966, however, the station was deemed surplus to requirements and closed. Hethersett is a large village in the county of Norfolk, England, about 6 miles south-west of Norwich. It covers an area of 10.92 km2 and had a population of 5,441 in 2,321 households as of the 2001 census.show more
