Description

A full-color Easy Reader book ideal for children aged 6-8 years old. Or a great read-aloud book for younger children.

Two modern-day children. A pair of old shoes. And a time-traveling adventure.

Join Taki and Toula as they're launched back to the days of Ancient Greece. When an angry bull shows up and threatens to ruin their experience, Taki and Toula panic. Coming face-to-face with an angry bull was not part of their plan. They're so relieved when Hercules the Great shows up.

But it turns out he is more scared than they are. How will Taki and Toula help Hercules find his courage and tame the Cretan Bull?

Laugh along as Taki and Toula create history. Greek mythology has never been this much fun!

A wonderful story to help children learn how to be brave and believe in themselves. A great introduction to Greek mythology for younger children. It also helps children recognize that the Greek gods aren't just born brave and clever (no one ever is). They needed someone to support them and help them become the heroes we know them as today.

Hercules Finds His Courage: Taki & Toula Time Travelers Book 1 by Elena Paige is the story of Taki and Toula who live in Crete, Greece. One day they decide to dress up in their mother's old clothes. While going through her chest, they find a strange pair of shoes. Their mother tells them that these shoes are called "tsarouhia" and belonged to their grandfather. They both want to try them on and Taki thinks it is fair if they both try on one shoe each. Something unexpected happens when they try on the shoes. They find themselves in a new place and can you guess who they meet there? Hercules the Great! Hercules tells Taki and Toula that he is not as brave as they think he is and the stories about his bravery are only myths. Will the children be able to help Hercules find his courage? Will they be able to tame the angry bull?

The message conveyed to young readers is excellent and relevant, and encourages children to be brave and have faith in themselves. The illustrations are lively and bright and they give a good pace and movement to the scenes and story. The book is appealing not only for its message, but also the educational content that will tell young readers about the Greek god, Hercules. Stories like this are engaging and entertaining and can be used for bedtime story-telling and read aloud sessions in classrooms. I cannot wait to go with Taki and Toula on their next adventurous trip! What about you, kids?
