He proved it was not God's will that any should perish, from that good will which Christ's miuisters have foi all, and their desire for their salvation manifested in preaching to them, praying for them, and giving up all to preach to them that they might be saved In attending to his third proposition, he stated that it was God's will that men should come to repentance. Who could think that a roan who preaches in this manner can believe that multitudes will perish, or be eternally miserable? This the preacher professes to believe; and after all such preaching, he told his Hearers that many would be miserable forever, though it was not God's will that anj should perish, and his will that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. How can such a preacher pray, "Thy will be done on earth;" when h e does not believe it shall ever be done. The difficulty with the preacher is this; he does not know what God's will is $ had he known this, he would not have told his hearers that God's will could fail. God's will means his purpose, or what he determines shall certainly be done; t being the standard, by which he does all things. Eph.Bi. 11.. "In whom also we hav obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will."
