As soon as I read this blurb, I knew that it was a story for me - the setting, characters and the dilemma- I was captivated from the beginning. And I was not disappointed! However I must confess that the prologue had me a bit confused, but Delamere did a good job of sorting it out. Within the first couple of chapters I was deeply engrossed, loving how smoothly the story advanced. What I loved most about this novel was the humour, where James and Ria (aka Lizzie) are the prime candidates, ranging from sarcastic to dry. It allowed me to be engaged and 'accepted' into their world, like someone who is on their side and shared secret. For once though it was not the romance that kept me intrigued, but rather the mystery of the Lizzie's predicament, which seemed to be getting worse by the minute, as people she thought she would never see again appear, making her promise to Ria even more challenging. Yet I have to say that the romance was sweet and endearing, which complimented the novel perfectly. The tension between Geoffrey and Lizzie was so evident, adding a good twist to the novel. Mainly, I loved everything about this story. The characters were engaging and the story line definitely intriguing. I am looking forward to reading her next instalment "A Lady Most Lovely". http://booklovers1.wordpress.com/show moreby Johanna
