Description

The Morgan Heart Chronicles 2: Heart Burn What happened in 1692 in the village of Salem? Morgan is off for yet another family vacation; this one chosen by her father, Darryl. Spending two weeks at her grandmother's house, which used to serve as a bed and breakfast, seemed like a good idea at the time until she learns that it will be only her and Addison visiting. After meeting her grandmother's roommates - three elderly yet quirky women - they soon learn that not everything they were taught in school about the Salem Witch Trials had been the truth. Dark secrets hold a firm grip on the women, and Morgan learns about her family tree; a tree that not only connects her family to the trials, it also connects to Addison's. To add to their quest, and with clues left by her deceased grandfather, the kids find out that the trials are also connected to the Boston Tea Party. Morgan and Addison have two weeks to figure out just how everything connects and how to find out the truth that can set her family's curse free. And as if Morgan didn't have enough to worry about, her growing feelings for the 'bane of her existence' keeps getting in the way. Will Morgan and Addison have the courage to finish what they started? Follow along with 13 year old Morgan Heart and her accomplices as they try to get all the pieces, put together all the clues, and stop the curse before time runs out.show more

About Karinn Martel

Miss Martel was born in Manitoba, Canada, to a mixed heritage of Ojibway and French parents. Her parents moved the family to Ontario when she was eleven, and she remains there to this day. In the small town of Cambridge, Ontario, she decided to sit down and write a book when the ideas in her head would not leave her alone. Forty-four hours later she had the first draft of the first book of her best-selling series, Vampires and Chocolate, for adults. Miss Martel has started venturing into the YA market and is releasing books for her young fans too. "I wanted to get some books out there that combine being a young teen and growing up in a world surrounded by ghosts, ghouls, and other things that go bump in the night. I love putting the supernatural spin on everyday lives to see how they react." Feel free to contact her as she always takes the time to answer all her emails. kmartelbooks@hotmail.com Twitter - kmartelbooks Facebook - KarinnMartelBooksshow more
