If the condition is neglected, a cavity soon forms, and in it food and various bacteria collect. Decayed teeth should never be neglected under any condition, even if they are the first or baby teeth. Teeth seldom need to be extracted, and good dentists rarely advise pulling one out. Such teeth can always be corrected, and it is quite unnecessary for any one to have such a deformity. Sleep is a building-up process by which new energy is stored up to replace that which is more or less exhausted by the day's activities. It is like the charging of a storage battery. If the supply of a person's energy is drawn upon too much without re-storing, serious injury results. The idea of drawing upon the stored-up energy of the body for a long time, and then making up the loss with long hours of sleep, is just as unwise as doing the same thing with a set of batteries. Batteries, to be kept in the most useful condition, must be regularly and frequently recharged, and human beings must do the same sort of thing with their bodies.
