H The Bureau of Vital Statistics of the State Department of Health has estimated from the annual death rate in Pennsylvania and the nu'm'be1' of cases of Tuberculosis, whose deaths are reported, that there are approximately sixty thousand consumptives in the State. Ten thousand of these are enrolled upon the lists of the State Dispensaries; two thousand are being cared for in the State Sanatoria and about twelve hundred are provided for by various private, semiprivate and municipal Institutions. This leaves a balance of fortyseven thousand for whom there is no accounting. Our duty is to reach these unknown sufferers, who through ignorance, inditference, or neglect constitute a menace to the health of their own and of succeeding generations. With these ideals in force in each one of the one hundred and six-l teen Tuberculosis dispensaries provided by the State of Pennsylvania for the benefit of her people, and the educational propaganda spread by the ten thousand patients constantly on their rolls, results should be achieved with the careless, spitting, draught-dreading portion of our public, which will compel the admiration of the world.
