Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Hashtgerd is a city in Tehran Province of Iran located 68 km west of the city of Tehran. It is the capital of Savojbolagh County. The city consists of Old Town Hashtgerd, which has been continuously settled for millennia, as well as a newly planned and rapidly growing industrial city. Over 8,850 new residents settled in the Hashtgerd area by the year 2000. The number is expected to rise to over 53,000 by the end of the Iranian calendar year 1383 (2004-2005). The city has a full accommodation capacity of 675,000. Hashtgerd includes several nearby archeological mounds, known collectively as "Ozbaki." These sites, which have been actively excavated for several decades, include several mounds or "Tepes" including Doshan Tapeh. Ozbaki includes remains of ancient settlements dating back to the 7th millennium BC through 1400 BC. These settlements include those inhabited by "Grey earthenware" Aryans as well as the Medians.show more
