This book was written by abuse survivor Hannah, with input from child protection, education and counselling professionals. Hannah has shared her real-life story to help children and young people who have been abused know they are not alone, that it is okay to have whatever feelings they have, and that things will get better.

Hannah explains what abuse is, and how to get help if the reader or somebody they know is being abused. Hannah then provides useful information about the supports and strategies that helped her to re-build her life following abuse in her family. She writes of feeling proud of herself for overcoming great challenges and her high hopes for the future.

This book is aimed at children and young people aged 10 and over, but is appropriate for younger children if they are reading with a supportive adult. It contains colour illustrations and is equally appealing for boys and girls.
