Two trains a day to Vossevangen (4 hrs.)--morning and afternoon. (See Time Tables). Several trains a day as far as Nestun, (whence a short branch line of 26 Kil. to Os--l1., hr.--) affording opportunities for short excursions. Steamers run daily between Bergen and Christiania, calling at the intermediate ports, (2V2 days); 4 times a week to Aalesund, Molde, Christiansund, Throndhjem, and the North Cape (see Route 23). Special quick service of Tourist steamers to the North Cape every Monday and Friday at 9 p. m. from the middle of June until the end of July. (See Route 24). There are also two steamers a week to Hamburg via Stavanger and Christianssand, and a weekly boat to Copenhagen, Rotterdam, 4c. To the Hardanger Fjord (see Route 16); to the Sogne Fjord (see Route 19); and to the Sendand Nordfjord (see Route 21. Berths are booked and tickets issued by Bennett's Tourist Office. For times of departure travellers are referred to Bennett's Timetables, and the Bergen local Time Tables, called Bampskibslisten, which may be seen at all the hotels, and can be bought at any bookseller's. Messrs. Thos. Wilson Sons & Oo.'s mail and passenger steamer -Eldorado leaves Bergen for Hull every Saturday noon, and Hull Route 7. Bergen. for Bergen every Tuesday. She calls at Stamnger both on her outward and homeward passage. (See Time Tables.) The Bergenske-Nordenfjeldske Line mail and passenger steamers -Yega and -Ragnvald Jarl leave Bergen alternately for Newcastle on Tyne direct every Saturday at 9 p. m., returning from Newcastle direct every Tuesday afternoon; the -Mercur leaves Bergen direct for Newcastle every Wednesday At 9 p. m....show more
