Description

Until the Telecommunications Industry Association published the IS-95 standard in 1993, the wireless telecommunications industry considered code division multiple access (CDMA) a controversial technology. Members of the technical staff of Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies provide in-depth discussion of engineering guidelines for issues involved in designing, deploying, and optimizing IS-95 CDMA systems and networks. Appends material on the RF (radio frequency) design process, optimatization procedures, and coverage prediction. While the approach is less mathematical than other books on the subject, familiarity with calculus, linear algebra, and probability theory would aid in understanding some of the material. The bundled CD-ROM contains a demonstration version of Bell Labs' Cellular Engineering 4 coverage prediction software.show more
