Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Gunnar Hjeltnes (born 1922) is a Norwegian alpine skier. He was born in Ulvik. He participated at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, where he placed 7th in downhill, and also competed in slalom and giant slalom. He became Norwegian champion in downhill in 1951. Alpine skiing (or downhill skiing) is the sport of sliding down snow-covered hills on skis with fixed-heel bindings. Alpine skiing can be contrasted with skiing using free-heel bindings: Ski mountaineering and nordic skiing - such as cross-country; ski jumping; and Telemark.
