Review Text

The Positive Thinking Author of The Greatest Salesman In the World, Mission: Success!, The Christ Commission, and numerous other divinely inspired guides to financial nirvana returns with the sequel to his popular story about the Dale Carnegie of the first century. The hundreds of thousands of fans of the first book about Hamid - the young camel-tender who gave away a robe he didn't own to the baby Jesus, thereby saving the little nipper from freezing, the guy who gave a new meaning to flogging camels, the guy who inspired a whole generation of supersalesmen in Herodian Palestine - will be thrilled to see that their man Hamid is back. They'll be sorry to see that he's lost his lovely wife Lisha and has pretty much retired to his extensive library of scrolls, where he sits waiting to join Mme. Hamid. Has the Super Salesman sold out forever? It looks like it until a hustling agent shows up with the proposition that Hamid hit the public-appearance circuit, sharing his secrets of success with the thousands of Mediterranean merchants willing and eager to put up a few shekels or sesterces for some Self-Betterment. Of course, Hamid can't resist the call, and he hits the hustings. But the talks aren't really successful. It takes some advice from an old pal, a heart-to-heart chat with the apostle Paul, and a moving encounter with The Blessed Virgin Mary to straighten things out. The cloak turns up again, too. Possibly sacrilegious. For non-readers. (Kirkus Reviews)show more
