Great Dalby railway station was a railway station serving the village of Great Dalby, Leicestershire on the Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Railway. It opened in 1879 and closed to regular traffic in 1953. Great Dalby is a small village 3 miles south of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.It has a population of between 300-400 and the parish church of St. Swithun was built during the 14th century. It is referred to in some UK census records as Dalby Magna.
