The week has continued lor the most part especially favorable for harvesting operations, which have been carried on actively. Threshing of wheat lias been inaugurated to a considerable extent, but the returns are not sufficiently full to serve in forming definite conclusions as to yield. It appears evident that in various districts of the West there is a disposition to push threshing so as to get the grain immediately into market, to secure the attractive prices being paid for July deliveries. The general import of the week's advices seems to be favorable to maintenance of calculations as to the yield of winter wheat. In the Northwest conditions continue encouraging for the spring grain. The corn crop lias made good progress the past week in most sections of the Wont, but where serious drawbacks previously existed from excessive moisture and growth of weeds there has been little improvement in the situation. The temperature has been low for the time of year, but has not operated to seriously retard" the advancement of corn. The general position while not all that could be desired is not a discouraging one. The oats crop indications arc without important change. In various localities in the West the excessive moisture has produced rust and moderate impairment of the crop.
