His origin al plan was to have publishedthree volumes more, the fifth to contain Essays and Practical Illustrations of some select passages of Scripture. The' sixth to have been wh'olly Epistolary. The seventh to have been a small volume compiled from the Poetical Department of the Magazine. Whether he resumes his editprial' labors must depend on circumstances of Divine Provi dence yet to be unfolded. Although it cannot be ex pected thatevery expression in any work that is hu man shouldbe perfectly correct, and in all respects the. Most tproper, yet the Compiler publishes the Gospel Treasury as expressive Of his own views of the religion. Of the blessed Jesus, in respect to the doctrines of the Bible, and prays that he may be enabled to live and die under the inﬂuence of the temper of mind and spirit this work is calculated to inculcate and diffuse among mankind.
