If you are in the heroic line prove it by showing the heroic spirit. You are not in the heroic line; you did not come out to church the other night because you thought it was going to rain; so you have nothing to do with this verse, and don't look as if you had. You have nothing to do with it, because you declined to subscribe to send the missionaries away, to tell the story of the heroic Cross. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with martyrs, let us be martyrs. Do not let the line of succession break down at our individuality. What have we to do if we would follow out the tradition of the elders, prove ourselves in some sort worthy of the historic succession in which our lives are found?"
