Google TV is a proprietary smart TV platform for set-top boxes and HDTVs based on the Android operating system, and co-developed by Google, Intel, Sony and Logitech. The project was officially announced by Google and its partners on May 20, 2010. Features: Search Internet and TV for content using a searchbar, HDMI input from Cable or Satellite box to keep traditional programming, Direct interface is currently only available for certain Dish Network set-top boxes, and no integration is available for other cable/satellite providers. To control devices from providers other than Dish Network, it uses either an Infrared blaster or requires user interaction to manually configure the provider's set-top box, Google Chrome allows web browsing, Dedicated programs/applications for Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, Napster, Pandora, Smart Phone Integration allows a smartphone to transfer current activities to/from the TV
