About Michelle Magorian

Michelle Magorian's first ambition was to be an actress and, after three years' study at the Bruford College of Speech and Drama, she went to mime school in Paris. All this time she had been secretly scribbling stories, and in her mid-twenties he became interested in children's books and decided to write one herself. The result was GOODNIGHT MISTER TOM - a winner of the Guardian Award and the International Reading Association Award and was also made into a much-loved film starring the late John Thaw. Since then she has published several novels, including award-wining BACK HOME and JUST HENRY (Egmont), which won the Costa Book Award in 2008. She has also published poetry and short-story collections and picture books for young children.
