What is it like to get old, then older, and move into a nursing home or care facility? What is happening to us as we face idle times and experience the need for special and determinate care? These questions are answered by the 92-year-old Harlan Carl Scheffler, who reflected on them in two essays written just before he passed away in April 2014.
