Gerhard Klimeck is a German-American scientist and author in the field of nanotechnology. The Director of nanoHUB, the Network for Computational Nanotechnology at Purdue University and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, he formerly supervised technical projects for NASA's Applied Cluster Computing Technologies Group at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is a senior member of IEEE and member of American Physical Society. Dr. Klimeck received his Ph.D. in 1994 from Purdue University with a 4.0 GPA where he studied electron transport through quantum dots, resonant tunneling diodes and 2-D electron gases. His German electrical engineering degree in 1990 from Ruhr University Bochum was concerned with the study of laser noise propagation.
