" I then heard the same little voice begin to repeat the Lord's Prayer, but in a somewhat singular fashion, for when she came to the part of the prayer which says, 'Forgive us our trespasses, ' she said, 'Forgive us our Christmases, as we forgive them that Christmas against us, ' and where she got that version of the Lord's Prayer it is impossible to tell, except that it was offered at Christmas time. Not a few of those who came seemed grossly ignorant, even of their own history. On a wet-(lay a boy was brought in from the street, and when I 'thought he had thoroughly satisfied his hunger, I said to him: --" 'What is your name? ' " 'Bob, ' said he. " ' Vi/'here do you live, Bob? ' " He nodded his head at one ofthe windows and went 0n with his dinner. " ' Where do you live, Bob? ' I repeated. " ' Over there, ' he said; but this answer was so "indefinite that I still persisted in asking him where he 'lived.
