Should my herein proposed system, with such modifications in routes and location as you may deem essential, meet with your early consideration and approval relative to granting a franchise therefor, I shall be pleased to furnish you with information regarding my associates in this undertaking, and also furnish you with such maps and plans as you may deem necessary. The main truck line subways, in which both the passenger and freight trains will run, are located as follows: I. A tunnel for track approach commencing at the surface in Johnson avenue, near Jersey avenue, in Jersey City; thence ease in Johnson avenue, with a descending grade of 1 per cent., to Hudson River; thence in a four tracktunnel to Battery Park, Manhattan; thence in two track subways, one of which is in Pearl street to the depot, the other in a subway on Front street to Roosevelt street; thence to the depot. 2. A tunnel four track approach, commencing at the surface in the yards of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad in the Bronx; thence with a descending grade of 1 per cent. to a four track tunnel under the Harlem River; thence south, with a four track subway'in First avenue, to Twenty-third street; thence in Twenty-third street to Second avenue; thence south to Second avenue, with a four track subway to Stuyvesant street; thence in Stuyvesant street and Third avenue, with a two track subway to the Bowery; thence in a subway in the Bowery to the depot. 3.
