Max and his wife arrive at her childhood home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania looking for a fresh start. But Max's wife quickly leaves him for her former lover. Max is okay with her choice, but his love of women, specifically for a beautiful co-worker, get him into immediate trouble. And this time, there's no turning back. Max tries to rebuild his life, win Laurie's love, and do his job as Director of Construction. But when his boss, sleazy lawyer Joe Harrison, sets his sights on a multimillion-dollar contract, Max discovers the truth about the money's dubious origins. It's too late to walk away, and he wouldn't even if he could-he'd lose Laurie. His life becomes entwined with New York's most notorious crime family, and an event occurs that will have repercussions on the rest of his life. "A Foundation of Lies" is a tale of one man's downfall and redemption as he compromises his values and struggles to free himself from the overwhelming bonds of organized crime. Love, lust, loss, and greed combine in an intriguing examination of crime, punishment, and human nature.show more
