Excerpt: ... rites of the Church of Ireland, with publication of banns once only, at the time of the solemnization:0f said marriage, at any time of the year or day, provided there shall not appear any lawful impediment in this case by reason of consanguinity, aflinity, pre-contract, or any other cause whatever prohibited by law, nor any suit, controversy, or complaint be now moved or depending 'before any Judge, Ecclesiastical or Civil, for or by reason of any marriage contracted or alleged with either of you; We, for lawful and reasonable causes, by us approved of, as far as in us lies and the laws of this kingdom allow, dispense and freely grant our license and faculty, as well to you the parties contracting as to the Rector, Vicar, or Curate of the said Parish of--, or to any other Clerk or Minister rightly ordained according to the rites of the Church of Ireland, without prejudice nevertheless to the Minister where the said woman is a parishioner, to solemnize this marriage between you in the manner above specified, according to the form prescribed in the Book of Common Prayer, set forth for that purpose by the authority of Parliament; and We likewise grant our license in this behalf to all and every the faithful in Christ, who desire to be present at the solemnization of said marriage: Provided always that if in this case there shall hereafter appear to have been any fraud committed at the time of granting this license, either by false suggestions or concealment of the truth, then this our license shall be void and of no efi'ect to all intents and purposes of law, as if the same had never been granted; and in that case We inhibit all Ministers whatever, if any thing of the premises shall come to their knowledge, from proceeding to the...show more
