The Forgotten Few
The book portrays the life of Lucas from a naive youth to a middle aged adult. Lucas felt that his uncle, Fidel that was nurtured and financially supported by his father through his university, had not done the same for him when his father died. Lucas lost his father at an early age and all his father's relatives that had received assistance from the deceased abandoned him and the rest of the family. He felt that his rich uncle, Fidel, and his wife were the worst human beings on earth. He wondered why his uncle would always support his wife in maltreating him and moreover the reason why his rich uncle would not be happy to have the opportunity to reciprocate what his father had done for him. Lucas grew up into an adult, got a lucrative job and also realized that he could not bring himself to catering, adequately for some members of his immediate family and members of his extended family. He realized somewhat the reasons why his uncle and his wife were not happy to have him around. Lucas' wife proved to be the same as other women including Fidel's and Lucas succumbed to the weakness of every man in the presence of an attractive lady. He was attracted to her mainly as a result of her cooking and her beauty and was not prepared to go against her wishes even when she maltreated his son which was her stepson."
