Enthralling! Forbidden Lust is an erotic chronicle of a young African lawyer as she struggles to find her feet in a foreign country. Fara, is married with children but finds herself homeless and stranded when she travels abroad to further her education. Faced with daunting travails, she falls in love (lust) with the married Coordinator of a homeless shelter and repeatedly consummates her relationship with him, despite the antics of a jealous wife. Excerpt from the book: I look at my watch again. Eighteen minutes. I tap my finger on the edge of the table, partly nervous, partly irritated. Was this a set up? I had promised Lindsey thirty minutes of my lunch break and I've been here for twelve. I almost jump out of my skin as the door opens and two women walk in. One of them is Lindsey. I lean back in my seat and inhale deeply. I observe Lindsey closely, still wondering what my relevance in her therapy is all about. It comes very quickly. "That's all she's asking. If you can, help her." Lindsey's therapist is tacit but she made her point. "I can't believe I'm in this room, at this time, listening to this right now." I reach for my bag. Lindsey's hand covers mine. "Please." She says. "I used to think what you both had were mere trysts but now I know better. He loves you." I stare at her hand, refusing to look her in the eye. "Those nights he made love to me, when you were still in his life, I could tell his mind was on you." I flinch. Stan had said something to that effect once but I never thought she knew it too. "I'm no fool," she continues, quietly. "We've been married for seventeen years and I love him with all my heart. He was my first love; the first and only man I've ever been with. But I'm no fool." I raise my head to look at her. "When he started to make wonderful love to me, I was surprised. Pleasantly." She pauses. "Make no mistake. Stan's always good in the bedroom." My face flushes as her words bring back memories. She continues. "But this time, there was something different; a different fire; a passion I could not explain. I dared to believe it was all for me. Then I met you at the Center. I knew immediately. The next time he touched me, he called me Fara. Something snapped inside of me. The last time I followed him to your apartment, I had a gun on me; his gun." My eyes widen in horror. I remember my fears and I shudder at the thought of all that could have gone wrong. I must have gone ghostly white. Her next words calm my nerves a little, but only a little. "No need to fear, Fara. The gun was not for you. Neither was it for Stan." "What?" Once again, my voice betrays me. Lindsey's smile is acid. This is a potentially dangerous, unstable woman, I think to myself. I will myself not to give my thoughts away. I sink back in my seat, too shocked to walk away. "Stan has the gun locked away now. Thankfully. He knows I'd never hurt him but he probably didn't believe I wouldn't hurt you either but if I had, I would have lost him forever." She seemed to tremble at her own words. Thank God, I breathed. Thank God Stan hadn't stayed that night. Thank God Lindsey had seen nothing to push her over the edge that night. "I've been in therapy. I am saved. I assure you, I harbor no ill feelings towards you." I do not know whether to relax or flee. "I need you, Fara. I do not want to lose him. Stan is my world. You could have taken him away but you didn't. I can trust you." Her face is ashen and I can tell it killed her to come to me for help. "I don't get this." My voice is calm but inside, I'm a whirlpool of emotions. I want to flee the room as quickly as I can. Did she realize what she was asking? Is she still crazy? "So, let me get this straight," I say quietly. "You want me back in your husband's life so you can get it banging between the sheets?" ***show more
