Description

This publication shows the works of Filippo Rossi which were exposed from 4th to 24th March 2015 at the Museum of Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, then from 31st March to 2th April of the same year at the Congress Centre of Cortona (Arezzo). Filippo Rossi, who has been exhibiting his work since 1994, has been exploring the themes of Christian sacred art for over 10 years. His works are conserved in museums and collections both in Italy and abroad. On 21st November 2009 he was the youngest artist to be invited to the audience with Pope Benedict XVI in the Sistine Chapel, and two years after he was invited by the Florence Cathedral Foundation (Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore) to take part in the competition for a pulpit for the Cathedral. "Only a few artists," as Timothy Verdon writes, "have the versatility of soul and of style of Filippo Rossi, who moves confidently from the transcendental sacred to a profane rooted in sensory experience - or, rather, that celebrates and exalts the senses."show more
