The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED. Now, twenty years after the Rising, bloggers Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives - the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will get out, even if it kills them.

Our customer reviews

I've been putting off reading Feed since its release; I adore the writing of the author when she's writing her wonderful urban fantasy series under the name Seanan McQuire, but I just couldn't bring myself to move the zombie horror post apocalyptic "Feed: off the 'yes, I'll read that one day' list. Just goes to show what a fool I am! I will learn to have more faith in my favourite authors; they may change genres, but they never stop being good. The basic story is post-contamination, the dead come back to life and bloggers are the new main stream media; Feed follows the story of one team of bloggers that starts out on the campaign trail of the man who could be the next president. What would be a normal, run of the mill, zombie kill'em all in the hands of any other author, becomes a story of love, mystery and a race against time; there are some incredible twists as well. I cried buckets! Now, it isn't all that unusual for me to sniffle my way through a soppy scene, but buckets, literally! Ms Grant had me bawling so much I gave myself a tear induced headache.  Feed is perfect. That's a pretty bold statement, but it actually gets several ticks in all the boxes, so I can't think of another world to describe it. It's well paced, with strong characters, scarily believable plots, good research, emotional connections, love, death, destruction, mayhem and zombies. If only she'd thrown in a vampire? Despite the incredibly dramatic ending, its only part one in a series; I am having difficulty conceiving how Ms Grant is going to make her characters dance so much in book two, but I am looking forward to reading Deadline to find out.show more
