Description

Formation of Equine Productions occurred in Santa Ynez with André at the helm assisted by Renata with the support of her Brazilian father, Carlos Costa and participated in by Liz Vargas with her mentor Gerald Lufkin as well as principal investor and Anake friends, John Murchison and his wife, Mary. Also present from England was Anthony Fenshaw and his new bride, Marge. The several-day meeting resulted in a business concept, plans and funding commitments for the first half of the new year. A month later Investor Brian Forrester and wife Laura join the group to help fund a major expansion into Florida. Madison excels at 4th level dressage and earns André's total commitment. He surprises Renata and Madison by liberating Anake from the clinic to join his bosom Botswana friend and her lover, Rolf, in Siberia to help save arctic wolfs and bears and then return to Europe to resume her dressage career. True to his word to her grandfather they all travel to Brazil for André' to marry Renata after which Renata and Madison continue on to Germany to help Anaka get back into shape to compete in the annual tour of European Dressage Championship Shows. To get back in form she leans on André' to be present at some of her more important shows which go well and allow her to gradually emerge as a serious Olympic contender. Plans move forward to acquire Rancho San Fernando Rey to challenge Del Mar and Woodside as an equestrian show center including also Show Jumping and Three Day Eventing. Buoyed by this competition Madison spurts ahead towards qualifying at Grand Prix level to position herself as Anake's successor and the apple of André's eye. Renata focuses on grooming herself to be his successor, which considering his age, is only prudent. With André's help Anake beats the reigning Dutch dressage queen at the Hoofddorp Championship show and flees Europe with him to avoid having anyone notice her eye site problem and set to preparing for the Gladstone trials to select the American Olympic team. She makes the team with ease and the action shifts to England. The training site in Surrey was close to Anthony's estate and as Anake soured due the inaction of their trainers and she called André for help. He flew to England overnight and with Marge, Anthony's wife, he rode over a steeple-chasing course to the encampment of the equestrian team and surreptitiously began training Anake. It became obvious to the team coach that he had better not intervene and so it came that Anake received exceptional training. The performances in London were on appearances a week apart, the first was a Grand Prix competition and on the second day a Special Grand Prix; the survivors went on to a Grand Prix Freestyle competition a week later. The night after the Grand Prix event someone attempted to dope Vasco, Anake's horse with a serum only commonly used in Angola by Cuban vets, which only someone like Rolf would know about. While they extensively walked Vasco after medicating him and then riding him until he had expelled all the venom, André immediately knew it had to be Rolf's handwork and sent the police to take him into custody. A week later before the final Freestyle competition a second attempt was made by a different person from Botswana who was apprehended by a private guard posted by André. Under threat of severe punishment he identified Rolf Krauthammer as the instigator, which ended Anake's relationship with him. She went on to ride an incredible freestyle to win the Gold Medal. At the crowning ceremony for the first time ever she removed her tinted spectacles in public. The public knowledge of her sight impediment earned her unheard of accolades. Their mutual love became boundless.show more
