Again she heard a groan, and summoning all her courage, determined to wait for no one, but run and proffer relief at once. She pushed back the bolt, shading the light from the wind with her hand, and gazed out into the darkness ' "Who is it?" she asked in a trembling voice. " Can I help you?" The groans ceased, and a feeble voice answered:, " I---have--come--a long--way. I--am dying--all alone."
