Should you publish in your official organ, any correspondence on this subject, we should be pleased to have you include the entire correspondence, together with this letter. The secretary of the dealers' association wrote, on March 21, as follows: Replying to your letter of the 13th, re Farmers Co-op Merc. Co. I wish to take exception to that portion of your letter wherein you say "This shipment was made by us on the representation of our salesman that these people are engaging in the implement business and judging from the fairly complete line of samples which they nave ordered, we believe that we could not be criticized in honoring their order." You know that the quantity of goods shipped does not indicate that these people are engaging in the retail implement business, and it is preposterous to assume that any such thing is likely to come to pass. The name of the company should be sufficient to arouse your suspicion that these goods were ordered specially for some farmer forming this concern. It seems strange that large wholesalers such as your company should so far forget the ethics of the implement business as to fill an order like the one in question, and then excuse the matter as you do in that portion of your letter quoted above. I know and you know that in this present day no man can engage in the retail implement business legitimately without carrying a stock on hand, amounting from $2,000 up.
