In Norse mythology, Fj lnir, Fj lner, Fjolner or Fjolne was a Swedish king of the House of Yngling, at Gamla Uppsala. Fj lnir appears in a semi-mythological context as the son of Freyr and his consort Ger r. According to Grottas ngr, Fj lnir lived from the 1st century BC to the early 1st century AD. Fj lnir drowned in a vat of mead visiting Peace-Fr i, an equally mythological king of Zealand, where Denmark later appeared. Fj lnir was then succeeded by his son Sveig ir. Grottas ngr informs that Fj lnir was the contemporary of Caesar Augustus. He was a mighty king and the crops were bountiful and peace was maintained. At his time, king Fr i, the son of Fri leifr, ruled in Lejre in Zealand.
