Ernest-Antoine Seilli re (1 January 1866 - 15 March 1955) was a French writer, journalist and critic. He was born in Paris, the son of Aim Seilli re and Marie de Laborde. He studied at the cole polytechnique. He was elected a member of the Acad mie des sciences morales et politiques in 1914. Aged 80, Seilli re was (with Jean Tharaud, Ren Grousset, Octave Aubry and Robert d'Harcourt) one of the five members of the Acad mie fran aise elected on 1 February 1946, to replace the many vacancies left by the Nazi occupation of Europe. He was received on 23 May 1946 by douard Le Roy, succeeding Henri Lavedan.
