Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Engerdal is a municipality in Hedmark county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of sterdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Engerdal. The new municipality of Engerdal was created on 1 January 1911 from parts of the municipalities of Tolga, Trysil, Ytre Rendal, and vre Rendal. The first element is the river name Engera and the last element is dal, the word for "valley" or "dale." The river name is derived from the name of the lake Engeren, and this is probably derived from the Old Norse word ongr which means "narrow."show more
