Twelve-year-old Jack is going camping with his dad. It's been three summers since the accident that nearly killed his grandfather, and he hasn't been out in the bush since. This "Guys' Get-Away" was his parent's idea to help him overcome his fears. A little fishing, a little swimming. It all sounded pretty harmless. And it was. It was, that is, until Jack made a foolish choice. A decision that put him and his father in mortal danger. Now, not only does he have to overcome his past trauma, he has to rise above it to save his father. It will take all of Jack's know-how and determination, and more courage than he knew he had, to get his father and himself out of the forest alive.show more

About Cooper M C Lafreniere

Cooper Lafreniere lives on a farm in B.C, Canada. He lives in a family of six boys and two girls, and his mum and dad. He is twelve-years-old and has been homeschooled his entire life. This is his first novel. Working with animals and building with metal and wood are some of Cooper's favourite things to do. He identifies with Jack because he also enjoys wildlife and camping. Cooper also loves hockey, and playing with his best friend, Briton, who happens to be his younger brother. Cooper loves to read his Bible and learn about God. He wrote a novel that illustrated how God was always there for Jack when he needed Him, because he has seen this be true in his own life.show more
