Embers is the first book in the series The Lost Siren's Song. Sirens have very powerful telepaths with the ability to manipulate their world with telekinesis, but not without consequences on their own life and sanity. They have been waiting for the prophesied Akashic Siren, a powerful psychic Sirens with the ability to see into the passage of time, who was predicted as the one who would save them from the Brazens Imperium and bring down the empire of their enemies. Brazens are physically ten times stronger than normal humans and historically led by those that have the ability to resist the sirens' powers.
The book is about seventeen year old Faith Stone, happily living in the Colorado Mountains outside Telluride, oblivious to her history and the fact that she is the prophesied Akashic Siren. Faith lives a normal life, helping her grandparents run a ski lodge with her brother Zach, till the arrival of Victor Grant.
Victor, the heir to the Brazen throne, arrives with the intention of killing Faith but when she saves his life instead, he begins to doubt that Sirens are as evil as he had been taught. On the other hand, the arrival of Victor inflames the embers of siren powers within Faith and she begins to change. Victor and Faith try to deny their dangerous attraction to each other but are unable to. A forbidden kiss unravels Faith. Victor leaves Faith behind not only to protect her but to change his world and to make it possible to forever erase the danger to Faith or to other sirens in hiding like her. However, Faith and her powers cannot remain hidden from Brazens, when her psychic powers are splashed across the news. This book is the introduction to the love saga of Faith and Victor, and their struggle to not only save each other and their love but also to change their world and bring about peace between Sirens and the Brazen Imperium.-
