Electronic Engine Controls 1998: Diagnostics and Controls
A collection of 23 studies of developments in the powertrain industry in response to pressure from both legislative and market forces. Among the topics are model-based diagnosis of leads in the air-intake system of a spark ignition engine, pneumatic and thermal state estimators for production engine control and diagnostics, misfire pattern recognition in high-performance 12-cylinder engines, the adaptive estimation of cylinder air mass using the combustion pressure, applying rapid algorithm development tools to engine management systems, and a new approach to functional and software structure. One of two volumes presenting papers on the electronic control of engines from the Society's international gathering in Detroit in February 1998. The other covers sensors, actuators, and development tools. No index. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
