Eileen Strempel is an operatic soprano and academic from Syracuse, New York. In 1984, Strempel began her undergraduate education at the Eastman School of Music and received her bachelor's degree in 1984. In 1991, she studied on full scholarship at Indiana University for her master's degree. Then, in 1998, Strempel was awarded a doctor of music from Indiana University for her dissertation, "The Gendered Salon in Late Nineteenth-Century Paris: The Works of Marie Grandval." During her years at Indiana University, she was an Associate Instructor of Voice. Strempel's career then took her to the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, as Director of the Opera Workshop, Instructor of Voice, and German and French Diction.
