Egolessness : A Handbook of Possibilities
This book grew from talks about finding egolessness. Though simple, being egoless is not always easy to get to. It's an experience, not an idea. It has something to do with inspiration and with being wide awake./The search is open to anyone./Is it religious spiritual Can it be secular, even atheistic It may be all of these, crossing all these lines. Some watch it light up brain scans. Some find they've gotten there through art, through shooting hoops, reading, writing, music. Love, dancing. Birdwatching. Some discover it at the movies. Some find themselves doing it through their daily living./You can't do it for what you get from it. It is immune to ulterior motives. Selfishness repels selflessness. You do it for itself; for the doing, for the going, while the landscape passes./These talks began at a drug and alcohol treatment center. They are talks that know the world of rehab and recovery, but not just that world. For as attachment works on us all, so this search is open to anyone.
