Review quote

"Another great book from Karen Inglis. Like her previous novel 'The Secret Lake', Karen has kept 'Eeek!' to a manageable length. Too many books for this age group are so long that they tend to put off the less confident reader. It helps, as well, that it is illustrated which makes the text look both fun and manageable." -- Louse Jordan, The Writers' Advice Centre for Children's Books, Director, Wacky Bee Books

Our customer reviews

Having previously, thoroughly enjoyed 'The Secret Lake' I was really looking forward to reading this new book by Karen Inglis, and I was not disappointed! This is such a fun read which had me laughing out loud in places! One day there is a knock on the door, and 11 year old Charlie opens it to find a fluorescent green, smoke wafting, football mad alien on his doorstep. The alien takes up residence in Charlie's bedroom, sleeping on the ceiling at night and studying football in the day time. This unusual friendship involves a catalogue of amusing incidents and antics! One day a Sci-Fi mad neighbour sees the alien through his telescope and this leads to an interesting outcome! I think this is a great book. With it's alien and football themes I think it will capture the imagination of lots of children, and will be enjoyed by both boys and girls. I thoroughly recommend it!show more
