We have the honour to forward, for your information, the accompanying Tabular Report, on the number, condition, &c, of the chinchona plants on the Neilgherries, on the 30th June 1863. Enclosure, in No 6. From W. G. Mclvor, Esq., Superintendent to Government Chinchona Plantations, to J. D. Sim, Esq., Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Fort St. George. Sir, Ootacamund, 10 July 1863. 1. With reference to the Order of Government of the 22d October 1862, No. 2,263, I have the honour to enclose the report for last month of our progress in the chinchona operations, to which is appended further information with reference to the analysis of bark forwarded to the Secretary of State in April last. 2. I would respectfully solicit the favour of beincr furnished with copies of the monthly reports on the progress of chinchona cultivation at Darjeeling, as also in the North West Provinces, if such are furnished to Government. Eeport on the Number, Distribution, and Condition of Chinchona Plants on the Neilgherrries, on the 30 June 1863. Table II. Memorandum of the Growth of Eleven Plants of C. succirubra, planted in the Second Denison Plantation, at Neddivuttum, on 30 August 1862. The panicles of the Chinchona succirubra, which has produced flowering branches, make satisfactory progress.
