Celestes boring professor husband dies suddenly, freeing her to explore new personal directions. She organizes a group of five, very different women, including herself, to help know and understand themselves through their dreams. The dreams begin to take on a life of their own, however, when the notorious owner of a Latino trailer park in a rural part of their middle Tennessee county is murdered. All five of the women have men in their lives who could have done it, and might have had the motive. Their dreams lead them to investigate and eventually identify the murderer. They and their dreams have no credibility with local law enforcement, however, so they must take action themselves when they suspect the demented murderer intends to destroy the whole trailer park.
