About Lucinda Hare

Lucinda Hare was born in Scotland and spent her childhood years roaming the local woods with her dogs, imagining worlds where wolves, knights and dragons battled in deep forests. She now lives near Edinburgh with her husband, who competes for attention with a large menagerie of rescued cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, and escaped battery hens. Lucinda specialises in cruelty cases and animals with behavioural problems, and friends often comment that she can weave magic and talk to the animals - a real life 'whisperer'! The Dragon Whisperer is Lucinda's debut novel.show more

'What tale would you like to hear tonight?' 'The Dragon Whisperer!' they chorused, huddling together as the wind whistled sharply outside and the moons rode the shredded clouds like galleons. Quenelda has always had a magical bond with dragons, and her greatest wish is to fly one and fight alongside her father in the brutal war against the hobgoblins. Root's greatest wish is to avoid fearsome, fire-breathing dragons at all costs, so when he is made Quenelda's esquire, sparks start to fly. But an unexpected friendship is forged, and when Dragonsdome is threatened by a deadly plot, this unlikely duo must find a way to defeat the dark forces. Epic battles, whispered legends and soaring magic weave together in this breathtaking debut fantasy.show more

Our customer reviews

English is not my primary language, but I read this book in a few hours. The characters are great, and I love the descriptions of the dragons, and how it shows their temperament as well. The book really does describe the relationship between humans and animals, and life in general. Can't wait to read the second book, Flight to Dragon Isle. Keep up the good work.show more
