Douglas Slaten (born February 4, 1980, in Venice, California), is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals. He attended Venice High School. He is a lefty specialist. Slaten was drafted three times, twice by the Baltimore Orioles (in the 29th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft and again in the 34th round of the 1999 draft), and then by the Diamondbacks in the 17th round of the 2000 draft, after which he finally signed a contract.
