Donegal South West is a parliamentary constituency represented in D il ireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 3 deputies (Teachta D la, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV). The constituency was first created for the 1961 general election. However at the 1969 general election it was abolished and largely replaced by the Donegal-Leitrim constituency.
