Dk Amazing Worlds Kit: Insects and Other Minibeasts
Projects contained in this kit describe how to collect, observe and identify minibeasts, giving children first-hand experience from which they can generate their own questions and lines of enquiry. Areas of study include: habitats, eating and being eaten, minibeasts and us, and social insects. The kit contains: a teacher's guide to using the kit; eight full-colour "Help!" cards on finding and presenting information, keeping minibeasts, writing and proofreading; 12 photocopiable project planner cards; a curriculum booklet; and a storage box. Five copies of the Amazing Worlds magazine "Insects and Other Minibeasts" feature articles on small survivors, how the butterflies came to be, and filming minibeasts. A full-colour wallchart provides information on looking for minibeasts. The kit also includes four Amazing World harbacks: "Insects", "Butterflies and Moths", "Spiders", and "Beetles".
