In a world of health food and weight watching this is not your average recipe book, but rather your guide to recreating the delicious food found in the American and Australian diners and sports bars of the 1950s. Never cook alone and get yourself an awesome barbecue, says author Andrew Levins. Deep fried or smoked? You want chilli with your dog or ice cream with your peanut brittle. Did we mention Chipotle? There is a fabulous dessert section featuring recipes for American-style sundaes and the incredibly creative ice cream dish Tim Tam Terrine. Complete with tips on the perfect Frankfurt, the original and best recipes for avocado ice cream and a banana split, everyone can sit down at their own "Diner".show more

About Andrew Levins

In the foreword of Diner, author Andrew Levins is described by internationally renowned DJ Diplo as "an adamant music fan, a superb DJ and a dedicated cook." Levins has toured the boundaries of Australia, both as a DJ playing alongside international artists as well as the co-founder of charity Heaps Decent, which takes music workshops to remote Aboriginal communities. He now owns a restaurant called The Dip, situated in the back of a Turkish bathouse where he prepares hot dog nachos, mojiitos and other 'bush tucker'.show more
