The number of people making music as a hobby was in the low millions back when you had to learn an actual instrument to make it happen. It has increased many times over now that cheap software makes anyone with a computer a potential musician or studio engineer. But the software can be complicated, with literally hundreds of options to understand and configure.

Digital Music DIY Now! cuts through the confusion of technical processes to reveal ideas and methods for getting back to the point: making music as easy as possible and not letting the technology get in the way, for both pros and amateurs alike. It covers the process of music creation from songwriting and recording right through to promotion and applying digital tricks during live performances. The authors also share tips for working with clients, marketing, and getting non-traditional gigs such as scoring for movies or video games.
